West Virginia man sentenced for illegal possession of firearm

BECKLEY, WV – Jason Michael Tucker, a 43-year-old resident of Frankford, was sentenced today to two years in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for possession of a firearm as a convicted felon. The verdict was handed down in US District Court.

Court documents reveal that on December 30, 2022, Tucker engaged in the illegal sale of a Ruger model Wrangler .22LR caliber revolver for $125. This transaction took place in Greenbrier County and involved a confidential informant. In addition, Tucker admitted to selling a quantity of fentanyl to the same informant hours before the firearm transaction.

Federal law strictly prohibits people with felony convictions from owning firearms or ammunition. Tucker, aware of his legal restrictions due to previous convictions for drug-related crimes in 2005 and 2018, still continued with the firearm sales.

Tucker’s criminal history, which spans 23 years, includes other felony charges such as forgery and breaking and entering. The case was prosecuted by Assistant US Attorney Andrew D. Isabell and involved significant contributions from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Greenbrier Valley Drug and Violent Crime Task Force.

U.S. District Judge Frank W. Volk handed down the sentence, which underscored the coordinated efforts of federal and local law enforcement agencies to address such violations.

  • Kamala Harris Accused Of Campaign Platform Stolen Courage Without Tax On Tips

WASHINGTON, DC — Former President Donald Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., accused Vice President Kamala Harris of appropriating a key tax proposal from his father’s platform, after a statement from the Trump campaign suggested that Harris has adopted the “No Tax on Tips” proposal ahead of the 2024 presidential election.

This comes just days after her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz was “flanked” for claiming he fought in wartime, which he never did.

Walz is haunted by his claim to carry weapons of war during war. His official Department of Defense records show he was never deployed to a war zone. The closest he came to fighting was a brief stint as a National Guard in Italy.

In a tweet posted 34 minutes ago, Trump Jr. claimed Harris and her potential running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, were guilty of “stolen proposals and stolen valor.”

The tweet was a response to an earlier post from the Trump campaign’s official War Room account, which accused Harris of political opportunism and claimed she would not comply with the tax bill.

Vice President Kamala Harris has jumped into the 2024 tax debate with a headline-grabbing proposal: eliminating federal taxes on tips for service workers. The dispute? It’s eerily similar to a plan Donald Trump laid out just months ago, sparking talk that Harris might be borrowing a page from his playbook to win over working-class voters.

The critics are divided. Some see it as a smart move to appeal to service workers, while others argue it’s a blatant attempt to steal Trump’s thunder. The debate is heating up as both candidates compete for support from the same core voter base.

The Trump campaign has highlighted the “No Tax on Tips” proposal as a key aspect of Trump’s economic agenda, which aims to ease the tax burden on the service sector. The Harris campaign has yet to respond to the allegations.

The exchange comes as the 2024 presidential campaign intensifies, with both parties scrutinizing each other’s platforms and proposals.
