Home and Away fans notice strange details about beloved characters: “What happened?”

Home and Away fans have pointed out that a character has mysteriously disappeared from the show.

On a Facebook fan page, one viewer was quick to point out that Justin Morgan’s beloved dog, Buddy, has mysteriously disappeared from Summer Bay.

“What happened to Buddy? Never see him again,” commented one eagle-eyed onlooker.

“Poor mate, he must be hungry, no one ever feeds him, let alone takes him out for daily walks?!” wrote another.

“He’s in the backyard,” another person answered, before one proposed a new theory about Boxer’s long absence.

“(Buddy) heard Justin singing and playing guitar and ran away like a dog with fireworks, poor thing,” the comment read, referring to the character’s tendency to sing on the show.

Elsewhere, others suggested that the long-running drama should go back to showing more of the characters’ home lives.

“No pets. no kids. no school. Weird,” one fan said.

Another person agreed: “I love Home and Away but they need to get back to the old show with the kids and the school and bring Buddy back too, make it more of a family show again.”

It comes as Home and Away’s biggest stars have come into question amid Channel Seven’s cost-cutting.

Household names such as Ada Nicodemou and James Stewart, believed to be worth millions, have been given a break on their huge salaries.

As Seven continues to cut jobs, an inside source told Daily Mail Australia last month that its biggest soap stars won’t be getting a pay rise anytime soon.

“I can’t imagine now would be a good time for Ada Nicodemou or James Stewart to renegotiate their contracts,” the insider said.

“While the show remains high in the ratings, the long-running soap won’t be spared the budget cuts — as the network tightens its belt.

“The current management team is preserving the network but it’s fair to say the glory days of high-paid two-stars have gone.”

Despite allegedly taking these steps to protect the popular soap, the network believes the show will survive the budget cuts unscathed.

However, the source says in the meantime “those who want to increase their salary on the high-class soap will have to wait until next year”.

While it is not known exactly how much Home and Away’s biggest names are paid, stars such as Ada, 47, and James, 48, are believed to be worth millions together for their work on the show.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Seven for comment.
